Sensorium Herbals
Meet the Herbalist
Shannon Patrick-Beatty is an herbalist and the owner of Sensorium Herbals, a retail herbal apothecary where she provides herbal consultations in Lewisburg, West Virginia. She has offered herbal remedies and body care products to her local community through the Lewisburg Farmers Market, the Winter Market and the Courthouse Farmers Market for 11 years.
Shannon believes in the importance of using plant medicine, local foods, and wellness to bring the body and mind into balance and facilitate the bodies innate ability to heal. Her ideal client values a multidisciplinary and spiritual perspective to their well-being.
Searching for something more, Shannon discovered meaning in a spiritual path that brought her closer to nature and a better understanding of herself. This included learning about the plants and animals of the Appalachian mountains surrounding her home. Her love of the forest and herbs begin with weekend trips picking “greens” and identifying plants with her family at an early age.
Shannon is a graduate of the Green Comfort School of Herbal Medicine in Rappahannock County, Virginia and is a member of the American Herbalist Guild. She has taught several local workshops on backyard gardening and medicinal plants. She is a judge for the America in Bloom program, which promotes, and celebrates community enhancement programs across the US. As coordinator of the Lewisburg in Bloom Committee, she has successfully organized beautification and environmental efforts that have enhanced life for residence and visitors.
